“Kozy Kaps 4 Kids” is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to bringing comfort to children and adults in their heartrending battle with cancer and the devastating effects of its treatment. Kozy Kaps brings joy, cheer and hope to these patients and their families. We help to foster dignity for these patients and enable them to feel some level of comfort in their daily appearance.

The “Unique and Joint Mission” of Kozy Kaps 4 Kids: Display our “cupcakes” and personally assist special children/adults of all ages to choose and fit their very own “crown”! Whether yours is a gala event in a grand hallway or a gathering in a cafeteria, Kozy Kaps will bring the fun and the fashion. To experience the graciousness and excitement of simply gifting a 'mere' Kap is truly a humbling thing. These astonishing children need to be mirrored and applauled. The nurses, doctors and hospital staff who participate in this rare gifting are filled with high spirits and gratification in seeing the bright smiles on the faces of their patients.

Marlene’s “Mission in her Golden Years” took on a life of its own after two of her friends battled breast cancer. During one of her friends' ordeal, she decided to tackle knitting a "chemo cap" with "Style, Fashion and Flair" and the soft feel of a Cashmere Cat. Upon delivering her creation, she was taken aback by the joy, excitement and exhiliaration it brought into her friend's day! It wasn't long before it was clear to Marlene that she had a mission to help cancer patients — particularly children — to place that smile on the faces of as many people as she could reach. As she puts it, "Helping people is what life is all about!”

“Giving & Gifting” wasn’t as easy a task as one would think. Marlene reached out to hospitals far and wide in search of a place to launch her program. After nine long months, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened its doors to Kozy Kaps. She is still working to bring the program to facilities in her home area, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has visited such places as Ronald McDonald Houses, St. Jude's, and the Target House in Tennessee. In the past three years, in Memphis alone, Kozy Kaps 4 Kids has visited thousands of children.

In testimonial, one doctor at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis said: “I just passed eight children running, laughing, giggling--all wearing Kozy Kaps--never in twelve years have I witnessed such cheerfulness in these halls!”
